2024 starting out a little sketchy on the news front. Hopefully it’s just opening day jitters and will settle in for a fine performance. 🎭 When a window closes somewhere a door opens.
This wasn't a "random piece of the airplane" as stated by this tictoker that has zero knowledge of the plane. So much misinformation gets spread because of opinions on social media. Wonder where the decommissioned door ended up.

Boeing re-organized in '97 after they merged with MD. I think it's time they re-organized again, this time with a focus on excellence and the cutting edge, rather than stock prices. Their focus on stocks isn't even working because of their lack-luster manufacturing.

The chances that one of the like four empty seats on the entire plain was the one next to where the gaping hole appeared. Glad everyone was safe.
Alaska knew there was a problem there and continued to fly
@@michaelgreening9096 Alaska knew the plane was experiencing a repeated presurization warning light activation. They looked at the aircraft and conducted tests and found no issues. They marked the aircraft as unable to fly over water for extended periods, but because there had been no actual incident of lost or reduced pressurization, that was about all they should have reasonably done given the need to also operate an airline. Hindsight is 20/20 and the aircraft obviously needed an extensive look, but the problems at the time were addressed at the time.

Stars won't be picked up because of the light from the inside of the airplane. Regular phone camera can barely do it already. Those be city lights

Meanwhile an Airbus A350 survived an actaul collision on landing and everyone survived. The Boeing 737-Max name is not going to be on any plane I fly now.
Looks like Alaska ordered them grounded for now!

That's quite the view.
Those planes have a plugged door there, designed to be converted into a working door in a higher-capacity configuration. The rectangle that ripped off is the door structure, which is visibly (from the outside, at least) its own thing
I remember hearing that Boeing had issues with cracking or poorly manufactured bear straps on door frames with the NG series. I wonder if that problem rolled over to the MAX with the plug doors?

@martinwheatley7218 I wondered the same thing. In my amateur opinion, either the plug frame failed, which doesn't seem super likely from the photos I've seen, or the plug itself structurally failed. Honestly, neither option is great and will probably lead to an AD for the MAX 9

@@Crazeforblaze The seat is still there. The light fabric seat cover was pulled off, but that isn't very strong anyway. Someone sitting in that seat, with their seatbelt on and the exact same situation otherwise, likely would have been fine. There was someone in the aisle seat of the same row who was also fine, which is a good point of reference but still had more buffer than the window seat.

The new version is actually a BETTER BEER. He softened up the bitter aftertaste that the original Boston Lager had, so this new version has a smoother finish while still initially tasting like the same beer. The remastered beer will appeal to more customers.
